13 SIMPLE NATURAL SMOOTHIE RECIPES FOR A GLOWING SKIN

One day I was cleaning my shelves when I noticed the number of shimmers, bronzers and highlighters I had stocked up inside my drawers. I kid you not, there were enough that if my light ever went out, I could generate sufficient ‘glow’ in the dark. Jokes apart, it was a serious obsession! I wondered where my money was being spewed, why I was always hopelessly waiting for ‘payday’ and why I needed a full 2 hours to get ready for any event. This madness had to stop! An avid health and fitness freak, I decided there had to be an alternative, a more natural way I could get my skin to shine bright like a diamond without sending money worth diamonds!

After extensive research, I whipped up the perfect 13 smoothie recipes to sip my way to clearer, healthier and glowing skin! Since that day, I have been hooked. Not only do these thirst-quenching concoctions taste amazing, they nourish my skin to perfection. I am super excited to share these recipes with all my followers. Remember girls, we all are beautiful: we just have to find a way to let it shine!

# 1 Pumpkin Smoothie

Pump up your skin with this pumpkin smoothie! Pumpkin is packed with Alpha Hydrox acids catalysing cell turnover, leaving you with brighter skin. Loaded with Vitamin E, it renders your skin smoother than ever. Pumpkin is also a great source of minerals that are especially beneficial for the healthy appearance of skin.

Ingredients:

  • ½ cup fresh or canned frozen pumpkin
  • 1/2 cup of fresh yoghurt
  • ½ cup water
  • ¼ avocado
  • 2 tbsp flaxseed
  • ½ tsp pumpkin spice pie
  • Crushed ice

Method:

  • Blend all the ingredients together.
  • Add crushed ice on top
  • Sip this Juicy Treat!

 

#2 Coconut Fruit Smoothie

Refreshing and packed with flavour, this smoothie is my absolute favourite! Coconut water is a great hydrating agent, leaving your skin rejuvenated and fresh. It also contains vitamin C and B to replenish your skin. This smoothie also contains strawberries, an excellent source of collagen, revitalizing your skin. Carrots fight ageing lines on our skin and mangoes are loaded with vitamins needed for a glowing skin. Oranges add that extra punch of flavour and are high in skin-friendly Vitamin C.

Ingredients:

  • I cup chilled coconut water
  • 2 cup fresh strawberries
  • 1 banana
  • 1 cup fresh mango cubes
  • 1 kiwi

Method:

Blend all the ingredients together until smooth. Top it off with crushed ice and freshly cut fruits!

#3 Kale Smoothie

Kale has a long list of benefits to endow your skin with. Kale boosts the health of your skin due to its abundance of Vitamin C. Vitamin K in kale helps to keep the skin looking hydrated. It also contains antioxidants, fighting aging lines and wrinkles, allowing for a smooth and glowing appearance. Kale also detoxifies the skin, leaving it looking clearer and fresher than ever. The addition of fruits gives that sweetness to the smoothie while kale and spinach relay maximum health benefits for your skin.

Ingredients:

  • I cup kale
  • 1 cup spinach leaves
  • 1 cored pear
  • 1 kiwi
  • 1 banana
  • 1 cup of grapes (seedless)
  • 1 tsp of chia seeds
  • ½ cup water
  • Crushed Ice

Method:

  • Blend all the ingredients together.
  • Top with crushed ice and gulp down!

#4 Green Tea Smoothie

If you would like to try the health benefits of the matcha tea but you don’t like it by itself I found the perfect solution- a delicious smoothie.  I have blended matcha tea into this tasteful smoothie for you to enjoy! Green tea is known to detoxify your body, leaving you with healthier skin. On top of that, it contains antioxidants that lend a smooth finish to your skin, leaving it hydrated, spot free and glowing. It also has anti-inflammatory properties so if your skin is easily irritated, this smoothie is for you.

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 cups of Almond milk
  • 2 dates pitted
  • 1 handful of Spinach
  • ½ of an Avocado
  • 3 mint leaves
  •  2 tbs match powder

Method:

  • Blend all the ingredients to make a smooth mixture
  • Top it off with crushed Ice

#5 Cucumber and Pineapple Smoothie

When you combine cucumber and pineapple, what do you get? Healthy, glowing skin! Cucumber helps to flush out toxins and this yummy smoothie fulfils your requirement of water as well. It keeps your skin hydrated, giving a dewy, glowing appearance. Pineapple contains bromelaine and antioxidants that fight out acne and skin inflammation, leaving you with smoother and softer skin. The addition of pineapple lends this smoothie that flavour you would want to sip again and again!

Ingredients:

  • ½ cup organic, sliced cucumber
  • 1 1/2 cup of frozen pineapple
  • ½ banana
  • ¼ cup coconut milk
  • ½ cup chilled water
  • Zest of 1 lime
  • Crushed Ice (optional)

Method:

  • Add cucumber (preferably with skin), crushed pineapple, peeled banana, water, coconut milk and lime zest into a blender and blend well
  • Top it off with crushed ice.

Sip this chilled drink right away as it tastes best when fresh!

#6 Banana and Ginger Smoothie

This amazing smoothie helps with digestion, nausea, heartburn and other stomach trouble due to the fresh ginger.

Ingredients:

  • 1 banana, sliced
  • ½ of cup of yoghurt
  • 1tbs vanilla
  • 1 Tbsp honey
  • ½ tbsp freshly grated ginger
  • 1 tbs blended nuts

Method:

  • Blend all the ingredients together.
  • Add the blended nuts on top. ENJOY!

#7 Strawberries and Kiwi Smoothie

This is a high-fibre smoothie recipe packed with Vitamin C that makes your skin glow from inside out.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup of apple juice
  • 1 orange
  • 1 ripe banana, sliced
  • 1 kiwi sliced
  • 6 strawberries
  • 1 tsp honey

Method:

  • Blend all the ingredients together
  • Add some sliced fruits and ENJOY!

#8 Tropical Smoothie

Pineapple contains a high amount of vitamin C and also manganese which is important for antioxidant defences. Also, its a great source of energy due to the vitamin B. Here is another of my favourites if you like tropical fruits as much as I do.

Ingredients:

  • 1 papaya, cut into chunks
  • 1 cup of coconut water
  • 1/2 orange
  • ½ fresh pineapple, cut into chunks
  • ½ fresh mango, cut into chunks
  • 1/2 banana

Method:

  • Blend all the ingredients together
  • Add some sliced fruits and ENJOY!

#9 Green Veggie Smoothie

Leafy greens like kale or spinach are a source of lutein that improves skin photoprotection, elasticity and hydration.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup water
  • 3 stalks of kale
  • a handful of spinach
  • 1/2 avocado
  • ½ cup flat-leaf parsley (leaves and stems)
  • 1 green apple
  • 1 Tbsp spirulina

Method:

  • Blend all the ingredients together
  • Add some pumpkin seeds on top. They are packed magnesium, a mineral that might improve your sleep and keep migraines at bay.

#10 Cranberries Smoothie

A perfect detox juice to keep your kidneys strong.

Ingredients:

  • ½ cup cranberries
  • 1 pear
  • 1 banana
  • 1 tbs nutmeg
  • 1/2 cup of almond milk

Method:

  • Blend all the ingredients together
  • Add some crushed ice on top. ENJOY!

#11 Berry Smoothie

This smoothie is full of antioxidants.  Studies have shown that they might reduce fatigue and stress and also berries are an important ally for a glowing skin.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup coconut water
  • 1 cup blueberries
  • ½ cup raspberries
  • ½ cup blackberries
  • 2 Tbsp Goji berries (soaked for 15 minutes) or 1 tablespoon of Goji powder
  • 1 Tbsp coconut oil
  • 1/2 tbs of ACAI powder.
  • 1/2  ripe banana

Method:

  • Blend all the ingredients together
  • Add some crushed walnuts on top.

#12 Clean skin Smoothie

It’s the winning ticket to a clear complexion!   Organic kefir restores radiance with live probiotics that can help you to have a healthy gut. Parsley oxygenates, cucumber revitalizes, coconut oil moisturizes, lime provides toning vitamin C, and mint packs vitamin A, which strengthens skin tissue and helps reduce oily skin.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup organic kefir
  • ½ cup flat-leaf parsley (leaves and stems)
  • 1 cucumber
  • 1 apple
  • 1 Tbsp coconut oil
  • 1 lime
  • fresh mint leaves to taste

Method:

  • Blend all the ingredients together
  • Add some crushed ice on top.

#13 Papaya and Pear Smoothie

Did you know that a medium-size pear with skin contains 4 grams of soluble fibre? If you combine this fibre with liquid  ( tea, coffee ), it pushes food through the gastrointestinal tract.Here is one of my favourite smoothies.Great way to start the day

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup papaya
  • 1 sliced pear
  • 1 cup of kefir ( made out of cow milk ) or coconut kefir for intolerant people
  • juice from ½ lime
  • 1 tbsp raw honey

    Method:

  • Blend all ingredients and ENJOY!
